Bel Village melds art and life, but also offers art in the literal sense of the word! A demonstration of this comes in the form of an exhibition by the famous Croatian sculptor, Božica Dee Matasić, placed in our villa number 5.

Her fascinating pieces fit perfectly into our spacious ambience, which is also a great occasion for you to get to know this talented artist a bit better.

Božica Dea Matasić is a graduate of the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts. She majored in sculpting and has been exhibiting since 1992. She works with sculpture, graphics and spatial installations, often using contemporary materials, innovative approaches and modern technological solutions. She has had some 20 independent and more than 50 group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad.

For her artistic work she has won many professional acknowledgments and awards, including the recognition of the IX. Trienniale of Croatian Sculpture Jury, as well as the Audience Award at T-HT Competition in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb and the  Meditarrenean Sculptor’s Symposium Dubrova in Labin.

Matasić had an independent exhibition at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nice in 2012, where she showed the acclaimed project of interactive kinetic objects Panacea. Her pieces have been featured at exhibitions in London, Budapest, Bratislava, Vienna, Berlin, Lisbon and many other cultural capitals.

Among other things, she is the author of the public sculptures Tower View and Forest Guard, which were realized in 2016 as part of the Mediterranean Sculpting Symposium, i.e. the Goran Sculpture Workshop. She also worked as leader of the SC Gallery, and has, since 2006, been teaching sculpture at the Academy of Arts in Osijek, where she has the status of full professor.

Her unique expression was exibited in the luxurious surroundings of Bel Village. And that’s just a small part of the impressive resume of our incredible artist!
